UNCMMN is an artisan product brand that uses uncommon materials to make common objects. Dedicated to infusing heritage and contemporary design, we strive to make hard to find materials universally accessible to inspire quality living. Through form, craft, and material, UNCMMN products enhance daily routines, highlighting the quiet moments of the day.
Wanting to rekindle their own Chinese heritage, Los Angeles designers Funi Ding and Stacy Zou founded the artisan product brand UNCMMN to create a tangible connection between traditional land and modern object. Growing up embedded in tea-drinking culture, they sought to revive stories from the past and infuse old techniques into modern day slow-living lifestyles. Both graduates of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Funi holds a B.S. in Environmental Design and Stacy holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design.
